The Vercel frontend is HTTPS. The API is HTTP. That means it's broken. On Day 79, we fix "Mixed Content" errors by setting up an Nginx Reverse Proxy with Free SSL from Let's Encrypt. We are moving away from the amateur http://1.2.3.4:8000 URL to a professional https://api.aeroboundventures.com. The "Receptionist" Analogy: Think of Nginx as a hotel receptionist. The Lobby (Port 80/443): Where guests (users) arrive. The Room (Port 8000): Where your FastAPI app lives. The Job: Nginx takes the key, handles security, and directs the guest to the right room. The guest never sees the messy backend. 💡 In this live build: The Architecture: Why exposing Port 8000 directly to the internet is a security risk. Nginx Config: breaking down proxy_pass, server_name, and upstream. Headers Matter: Setting X-Forwarded-For so FastAPI knows the user's real IP, not just 127.0.0.1. Symlinks: Understanding the Linux standard of sites-available vs sites-enabled. Certbot Automation: Generating a free SSL certificate that auto-renews every 90 days. By the end, you’ll have the "Green Lock" and a secure, production-ready API. 💬 Join the Community: 👉 / discord 📘 Watch the full playlist: 👉 • FastAPI & Next.js project: Flight Booking ... 📂 GitHub Repo (Public Mirror): 👉 https://github.com/KNehe/aero_bound_v... 🔥 Subscribe to master Production Engineering. #FastAPI #Nginx #SSL #HTTPS #DevOps #AWS #ReverseProxy #WebSecurity
