In 1988, when my two daughter were just becoming teenagers, I sat down at our piano and composed a song which was inspired by an image of a captured dolphin placed in a man-made lagoon to entertain guests wanting to swim with it. It could hear other dolphins calling from the open ocean just beyond the barrier, but it could not join them ... until one day... it found the courage to make a break for it, leaping over the barrier and escaping into the glorious open sea. The song I composed tells the story of this wonderful dolphin's escape. My daughters fell in love with the song but sadly, it fell by the wayside for 34 years until I finally wrote and adapted it to MuseScore & YouTube. I have captured the story using a grand piano and three other beautiful instruments. I hope my daughters, and all of you, enjoy it. Feel free to download it to play with your own instruments.
