Pressurized Intraperitoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy involves the administration of intraperitoneal chemotherapy in aerosolized form through laparoscopy. It is a 90min that enables superior distribution and depth of penetration of chemotherapy. Pre-procedure, the patient undergoes blood tests and a body scan, and certain medications are stopped. The patients are administered under general anesthesia on the day of the procedure. Afterward, the surgeon inserts tubes via two small incisions into the peritoneal cavity. A first small tissue sample of the tumor retreat, then chemotherapy is aerosolized to the abdominal cavity with Capnopen.
