Ribble Cycles have been quite fortunate in this scenario. If the rider had sustained an injury or even death, based on the testimony of the customer, I think it would be quite likely that Ribble could be shown to have demonstrated criminal levels of negligence. The frame clearly had a fault from the start, this should have been picked up on at least 3 occasions before dispatch to the customer. The customer reported a problem (he didn't know it was cracked or misaligned) and the frame went back to Ribble, the customer claimed to have visited Ribble twice to have remedial work carried out. On the face of it, a serious fault and possibly catastrophic fault was misdiagnosed twice. The concern in this situation is due to Ribble not picking it up at any stage throughout their QA/QC and aftersales. Ribble were quite receptive when I contacted them but this should have not required a cut up. At the point of publication of this video, the customer and Ribble were in dialogue.
