Bucket List ADV ride along the Kouga mountains following the Rus en Vrede 4wd track. It is a total of 70 km that starts in the Baviaanskloof and cuts across the mountains to the town of Kareedouw in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa. It is the only region globally where they grow the famous Honeybush tea. Honeybush tea is a young, but growing industry that is unique to South Africa. This tea is naturally caffeine free, but rich in antioxidants and offers a range of health properties. Due to its growing popularity around the world, there are opportunities for more farmers to start growing this indigenous crop. Honeybush (Cyclopia species) is part of the fynbos that grows wild in South Africa’s Eastern and Western Cape provinces. There are 23 species of which only a few are used to make tea from.
