When I saw the first screenshots for Outpost: Infinity Siege I was sure this game was just a tech demo or that it was never going to play as good as it looked. So while Outpost: Infinity Siege still has room to improve and reach its full potential, its latest update, Return to Dawn Base has been a big leap forward in that direction. I know that this sounds like a warm recommendation that seems to clash with the current mixed reviews on the game’s Steam store page, and that is the third reason which sparked my interest in making this video. So stay a while and listen, and I will show you what makes Outpost: Infinity Siege so interesting. The core of the Return to Dawn Base update can be broken down into two sections. First is the addition of new game modes which not only bring new preset challenges, enemy types and rewards for you as the player but also the ability to customize a match specifically to your linking. You can do so by chaining the build and event encounters as well as the difficulty level in this new free mode. The second important part of this update are new building components and turrets. These are named Xen Turret, and they come equipped with Elemental Properties. The developers plan to give you much more replayability by introducing these new elements and I as well as a number of other players think it is working. Do note that to be able to start up this new mode you have to complete the “Rusty and Spark" mission and use your base terminal. So once you have played a few of the introductory missions of the main game mode, and learned how to supply and defend your outpost in battles you can give the challenge part of the Return to Dawn Base update a try. And honestly you should bring a friend for the ride, as the challenges are not easy especially with the random traits you get as you play with a totally new operative, and not the one from your main playthrough. So I want to thank katze9997 who helped me out in these missions. The first challenge mission that you face in the Return to Dawn Base section is fittingly named Grand opening, and as I explained you will be given a random operative with a random skill set, but will be able to level him during the mission and upgrade those skills. The value of the outpost you will be manning is astronomical by design, and is equipped with multiple weapon systems. Since these challenge missions are custom made they revolve around several factors one of which are events. These are classed as opportunities or crisis. The former help you, while the latter make sure the enemies have a better chance of taking you apart. When these are put together they make up the risk level of the challenge you are about to take.
