What began as a scenic walk quickly turned into a test of nerves and resilience. A pair of venomous snakes greeted us early on, and just beyond lay Simartoli—a surreal landscape that felt like heaven perched on Earth. But paradise gave way to peril as we entered the death zone of loose moraine boulders, where every step was a gamble. As we pushed forward, a brutal snowstorm closed in. The cold bit into our bones, hands went numb, and our bodies slowed—but the mountains never stop. Somehow, we kept moving… and finally reached Raj Kharak, cold, soaked, and breathless. Camp was pitched with frozen fingers, and minds fixed on one thing: Summit Day. This is the true spirit of the Himalayas. This is The Himalayan Bear.
