Time to install an HEI distributor system on the CJ7. We're getting to the end of this full frame off restoration and now for the finishing touches. The advantages of a HEI distributor is stronger spark upon ignition and while driving, more efficient fuel combustion, reduction in the amount of wiring and components within the engine bay, and the removal of the ECM if you so choose. They advertise these distributors as a 1-wire hook-up. That is true, but there are a few other things that need to be installed to make it a 1-wire set-up. In this video I take you through how I did it. You will have to cut some wires, so get ready to remove some stuff. I reference a diode in this video that helps prevent "run-on" from the alternator.
