Thrifting and reselling isn't about the money for me, it's about the adventure and what I can find. Thrifting at Goodwill means that you can find just about anything at a good price. If you make the trip to the Goodwill bins / Goodwill outlets, it requires more work, but it's easy to fund your thrifting obsession. The reselling and retail arbitrage of my thrift flip adventure started off as a way to just make my money back. Selling on Mercari not only funds my thrifting needs + gives me some extra spending cash, but it's starting to become a genuine way to make money. With enough work, thrifting and retail arbitrage can easily become my primary source of income.
