Small stone can be missed by USG, which can be detected by endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) 2: CBD stones are suspected if bilirubin or alkaline phosphatase are high. USG, EUS and MRCP can diagnose CBD stone 3: Acute pancreatitis: USG, CT and blood test can diagnose acute pancreatitis. Serum amylase and lipase are elevated during the attack of acute pancreatitis Treatment 1: In symptomatic patients, gall bladder #surgery should be done, gall bladder is removed with laparoscopy or keyhole surgery. Medical therapy has limited role. Asymptomatic patients can either undergo surgery or can be in close follow up 2: CBD, common bile duct stones are removed by ERCP 3: For acute pancreatitis, patient is admitted. Once pancreatitis settles down, gall bladder is removed to prevent recurrence.
