Comparison of proximal femoral nail antirotation II versus Zimmer natural nail in Indian elderly unstable intertrochanteric fractures - A Retrospective cohort study - Dr Paras Banka Comparison of Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation - II (PFNA-II) versus Zimmer Natural Nail (ZNN) in Indian Elderly unstable Interochanteric Fractures: A Retrospective Cohort Study. Present by WIROC Associated with BOS & OrthoTV The video titled "Comparison of Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation - Dr Paras Banka" presents a comparative study between two types of commonly used implants for unstable intertrochanteric fractures. The speaker, presumably Dr. Paras Banka, discusses the methodology and findings of the study. The study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation - II (PFNA-II) versus Zimmer Natural Nail (ZNN) in Indian elderly unstable intertrochanteric fractures. The study found no significant difference in the pre-operative parameters between the two groups, providing a uniform study group for comparison with the intraoperative parameters. The operative time for one of the implants was around 77 minutes. The operative time of PF was around 70 minutes, which was the only interoperative parameter that showed significant difference with a p-value of 0.0432 among the post-operative parameters. There was a significant difference between the enter cortex abutment, which was higher with the PFNA2 implant. There was no difference in the primary outcome measures, but there was one case of implant failure with PF and E2. The study concluded that there is a statistically significant higher operative time with ZNN compared to PF and A2. Despite the design of the procedure to accommodate a certain effect, there is no significant transmission of this effect in terms of thigh pain. The primary parameters do not show a significant difference.
