You've heard it a million times while going through driver's education, your parent has shouted it at you countlessly through your lessons; hell, even the officer handing you your slip after you've passed the test says it before you leave: Obey the rules of the road. They're simple: Stop at a stop sign, follow the speed limit, don't go on your cellphone... keep an extra pair of socks in your trunk. Wait, huh? No, no, what I meant was, if you stop at a hotel for the night while you're traveling, be sure to leave a bucket of ice on the counter in your room. What? Ugh, sorry. I heard this weird radio show on the way home tonight. Some weird guy with a southern accent talking about "his" rules of the road. The guy's out of his mind, though, if he thinks I'm stopping on the way home to eat some boiled peanuts. It's strange, though, the way he said it. I didn't HAVE to follow the rule, but it feels like something bad will happen if I don't. Something worse than having your brains leaving skidmarks on the pavement...
