Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we've got a 2025 Honda CR-V and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install, the Draw-Tite Class II inch and a quarter Hitch Receiver. Adding the hitch receiver to the back of your Honda CR-V's gonna allow you to do a couple different things. It'll allow you to haul bike racks and cargo carriers, or if you pair it with some wiring, you can pull small trailers. We do have that wiring on our website. If you check it out, you can get your Honda CR-V set up with it. The inch and a quarter hitch receiver tube is gonna allow you to carry inch and a quarter accessories. If you look on our website, a lot of our two inch accessories, you can remove a sleeve and it becomes an inch and a quarter. So you check those out and you can use them with this hitch. We'll have a half inch hitch pin hole, which is going to be standard on your inch and a quarter hitch receiver tubes. The hitch pin and clip do not come with the hitch, so again, check out our website. If you pick up an accessory, it's very likely that it'll come with one. If it doesn't, you can pick up a locking or non locking hitch pin. The safety chain loops are very, very large. I believe they're the same size that come on a two inch hitch receiver, so there's a lot more space to be able to get many different size safety chains on there if you decide to tow a trailer. As far as weight capacities go, you're gonna have a max tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds. That is the downward force on the inside of the receiver tube. And then you're gonna have a max gross trailer weight rating of 3,500 pounds. That is the trailer plus the load that you have in or on the trailer. You will want to check with the owner's manual of your vehicle to see what its capabilities are and go with the lowest capacity between the vehicle and the hitch receiver. Now some measurements for you guys, so you know how this is gonna fit on your CR-V. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost part of our bumper, it's about an inch and a half, which is really, really nice 'cause if you're looking into any accessories, like a bike rack or a cargo carrier, that's gonna hold up to the back of your vehicle, you want that hitch pin hole to be as close to the edge as possible, so it gives you some more room here. From the ground to the top of our inside of our receiver tube is about 13 inches. If you have a accessory off the back, you might wanna look into one that has a raise in the shank. I know a lot of our cargo carriers on our website will have at least a two inch rise in the shank and that's better than having nothing. A lot of the bike racks, if you get a hanging style bike rack, you're gonna have a big raise in the shank so that it can get you some of that ground clearance. This install is pretty easy to do from your house. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, please check out our dealer locator. We can find a shop for you closest to your house so where you can have them do the install for you. If you do plan on taking this on yourself, the hitch will just lift up into place. You just run some hardware down through the frame rails, drop it down, and then you're gonna put some nuts on the bottom of the bolts that you drop down through the frame. In the install, at the very beginning, you'll see that we're gonna take this plastic panel off. For this hitch install, you do not have to take it off. We take it off so that you can see what we're doing a little bit clearer, so we can get the camera under and you can see the hardware. But hopefully with the rest of this video, you should be able to get your hitch installed. To begin our installation, we're gonna need to take this underbelly panel down. We have some push pin fasteners all around the perimeter and some in the middle that we'll have to take down. We've got a flathead screwdriver, usually a trim panel tool or a push pin fastener removal tool works well. It looks kinda like a fork and you can slide it in there. And they don't work super great on this style because it's got that ring around the outside. So you wanna pop out the inside and then pop out the base. (tool rattles) (fastener pops) (tool rattles) Now we're gonna grab a 10 millimeter socket. We're gonna have a nut right here and then one on the other side tha
