The Silesian Uprisings (1919 – 1921) - How Poland Seized Silesia

Poland during WW1 was established as the so-called Kingdom of Poland (1917-1918) as a puppet state of the Central powers during the First World War. Polish army commander Józef Piłsudski didn't listen to the Germans so the new state was no success. After World War I Poland became an independent nation, named the Second Polish Republic (Rzeczpospolita Polska). After the Polish–Soviet War (1919-1921) was fought Poland's eastern borders were secured. The western borders were established after the Greater Poland Uprising (1918–1919), led by Józef Piłsudski, and the Silesian Uprisings (1919-1921), led by Wojciech Korfanty (and his Wawelberg Group).
