This beautiful real-time Fall drive takes place in the Black Hills of South Dakota, starting at the entrance to Mount Rushmore in Keystone, South Dakota and ending at the Sylvan Lake Entrance to Custer State Park. This stretch of the Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway rides the entirety of SD-244 before taking the Needles Highway for six miles to Custer State Park, where a $20 entrance fee is charged. The fee is well worth the amazing drive that is the Needles Highway, the Wildlife Loop, and Black Elk Peak. I will feature the park and associated drives in the future.
