Luis Manuel Diaz and Tanner Pendleton, November 2025 Photographer in Residence

Listen to Luis Manuel Diaz and Tanner Pendleton talk about their time in residency this past November, which took place in the Airstream darkroom outside of their attic camera obscura that they built in their attic in Wakefield, Rhode Island. During their time in residence, Luis and Tanner worked in collaboration using the camera obscura they originally created to view the solar eclipse. They created a body of work that experimented with light, projection, shadow, and time. The Airstream darkroom supported their ongoing project “Light In The Attic” by providing the necessary equipment to develop images on site and with immediacy, pushing them to experiment and supporting a new chapter for the body of work.
