Grid-tied inverters are required to shut down when the grid goes out. This results in a lot of solar systems not able to produce power during a power failure. With AC Coupling, you can use this kit to add batteries to your existing solar system and trick it into turning on, while still remaining code compliant. We discuss the different ways you can use this battery back-up kit. altE is now stocking the kit in Puerto Rico, where they have been without power since Hurricane Maria. The kit does not include solar panels or batteries. We do have a recommended battery kit in Puerto Rico as well.
