I AM SO TIRED OF LOSING IN SEMI-FINALS. It’s like some kind of cosmic joke at this point. I spend months designing, building, programming, and fine-tuning this robot, pulling late nights, debugging endless issues, making sure everything is as perfect as it can possibly be. And for what? To get absolutely robbed in SEMIS at yet ANOTHER VEX Signature Event. I swear, it’s like no matter how well we perform in quals, no matter how well we strategize in eliminations, something ALWAYS goes wrong right when we’re on the brink of making finals. Maybe it’s a dumb sensor glitch that’s never happened before. Maybe it’s an alliance partner who suddenly forgets how to drive. Maybe it’s a bad call from the refs (don’t even get me started on the refs). Or maybe it’s just some ridiculous bad luck where the other team suddenly levels up like they’re in a shonen anime. It’s INFURIATING because I know we’re good enough to win. I know we’re better than some of the teams that end up making it. But nope, every single time, we’re stuck watching finals from the sidelines, knowing that we were this close to being there instead. At this point, I might as well start calling myself the Semi-Finals Merchant™ because that’s apparently all I’m destined for. I could build the most cracked robot in the game, run perfect auton, have the best driver skills, and I guarantee you somehow I’d still find myself getting eliminated in semis. It’s a curse. A sick joke. But you know what? Next time, I refuse to let it happen. I am coming back with a vengeance. I’m fixing every possible weak point, testing every possible scenario, and doing whatever it takes to break this semi-finals curse. Because I swear, if I have to watch one more finals match from the stands instead of the field, I might just lose my mind.
