Jaguar XJS V12 ABS TEVES system components - motor / pump / accumulator / pressure switch Overview of the components that make up the pressurisation side of the TEVES ABS system on a 1989 Jaguar XJ-S V12 - motor / pump / pressure switch & accumulator. This is the assembly that sits in the corner of the engine bay, the opposite side to the driver & brake pedal. The simplified purpose of this section of the system is to provide a constant & redundant source of pressurised brake fluid, and to display warning lights / signal to deactivate ABS when pressure is not available. My impression of a pump noise @ 03:43 :D Obvious statement but if your motor just doesn't run ever then it, or the fuse, or the pressure switch, are dead. For reference: I get 4-5 pedal presses with the ignition on, between a fully charged system and the pump re-engaging I get approximately 20 pedal presses with the ignition off, between a fully charged system and a totally depleted system/hard brake pedal. 00:00 intro - pressure source 00:32 components overview 1:27 motor 1:41 fluid pump 2:19 pressure switch 3:09 accumulator 04:12 accumulator as LEGO 05:32 accumulator schematic 06:09 system schematic 08:22 brake pedal feel 9:10 pump charging demo 11:06 brake pedal when charged 11:50 pedal presses? 12:37 dead accumulator symptoms 13:25 dead pump symptoms 14:02 pump immediately engages? 14:42 purpose summary 15:13 dangers! 15:44 pipe connection types 16:27 maintenance 17:19 reliability
