This method is smooth. Of course a lot of people might use something to cover the hole with a sponge we carved in the fruit, however in our case I usually prefer when it is not covered because the stem of my Shisha is tight. However, if your Hookah stem is wide then you could always add a filter to the hole to restrict the airflow a little. I'm only here to show the technicality more than anything on shisha use.
