Hohenschwangau is an urban district of the municipality of Schwangau, Ostallgäu (East Allgäu) district, Bavaria, Germany. The village is bordered by the Alpsee (lake), and located very close to the border with Austria. It is located between Schloss/Castle Neuschwanstein and Schloss/Castle Hohenschwangau and is visited by about 2 million people annually.
