In the previous video, we explored the business context behind three datasets: Product Master, Sales, and Support Tickets. In this session, we move one step further. We answer our first analytics question using SAQL : 👉 “Show me all official products, along with their sales and support details if available.” Before writing any SAQL , we first demonstrate: ◼ How the final result should look using a simple Excel-style table. Then we break down the SAQL logic step by step: ➤ Why Product Master must be treated as the anchor ➤ Why we use cogroup A by 'PID' left, B by 'PID' left, C by 'PID' ➤ How left-to-right evaluation in SAQL affects which products survive This video focuses on reasoning and predictability, not memorizing syntax. The goal is to help you predict the result before writing the code. If you’ve ever wondered why a cogroup() result looks different from what you expected, this session will make that behavior clear. 👉 In the next video, we’ll go deeper into: • Why first() is required when extracting values from a cogrouped dataset • How cogroup() actually creates and evaluates bags internally • Common mistakes that lead to missing or unexpected rows ▶️ Watch till the end to see how the result is derived before the code. ▶️ Save this video if you’re learning cogroup() step by step.
