Many Chinese characters are autological, they define themselves. This is the case with lots of numerical expressions too. This is one of the most fascinating topics in how culture shapes thought. Maybe Chinese people have higher IQ, on average, but I highly doubt it. I think that any statistical significant advantage that Chinese people have in math comes down to the Chinese language. So, as hard as Chinese is to learn, I think every kid should learn it to because it helps with mathematical learning in the future :) TLDR: Chinese language inherently has base 10 and addition built into it, Chinese language makes multiplication easier, Chinese language makes understanding fractions easier, Chinese language has extra macro units for big numbers.
