The incident took place in Pune, Maharashtra, where the woman, along with five others, including her lover, planned to eliminate her fiancé. The police have taken action, arresting five people, while the accused woman remains absconding. According to media reports, Mayuri Dangde, a resident of Ahilyanagar district, was engaged to Sagar Kadam, a resident of Mahi Jalgaon in Karjat taluka. Reports suggest that Mayuri was unhappy with the marriage as she did not like Sagar. As a result, she allegedly conspired to have him killed for ₹1.50 lakh. The victim, Sagar, works as a cook in a hotel. On February 27, Sagar dropped Mayuri at a relative's house and was returning to Pune when he was attacked near Khamgaon in Yawat at around 7:30 PM. Hired goons assaulted him, leaving him seriously injured. He is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. On March 1, Sagar filed a complaint against unidentified assailants. Reports indicate that Mayuri called Sagar on February 27, convincing him to watch a movie in Pune. After the movie, Sagar dropped her off at 7:30 PM. As he was returning, four men in a car intercepted him, beat him with sticks, and threatened to kill him if he proceeded with the wedding. According to a Times of India report, Sagar stated that one of the attackers instructed the others to break his legs to prevent him from attending the wedding. He also claimed that he had received threat calls on February 21 and 22. Police investigations revealed that one of the arrested men is Mayuri’s cousin. He has confessed and disclosed the names of the other four individuals involved. Among them is Mayuri’s 40-year-old boyfriend, who owns a garage in Shrigonda, Ahilyanagar. He has been detained for two days, while the 23-year-old woman remains on the run. Investigations also uncovered that Sagar and Mayuri had gone for a pre-wedding photoshoot on February 21. Mayuri was in a relationship with the garage owner and had asked Sagar to inform her family that she was unwilling to marry him. When Sagar refused, she and her lover allegedly planned to have him killed.
