A War Powers Resolution to end US complicity in Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen will soon be introduced by Representatives Jayapal and DeFazio as soon as next week. Every member of Congress needs to go on record opposing this unjustified and unauthorized war that has killed almost 400,000 Yemenis. Unfortunately, last Summer Rep. Stephen Lynch voted against an amendment, similar to the upcoming resolution, that would end US facilitation of Saudi Arabia's bombing campaign, creating what the UN called, "the world's worst humanitarian crisis." He was one of only 11 Democrats to vote no. Massachusetts Peace Action and constituents will be asking the congressman to explain his vote against that amendment, a measure that would have grounded the Saudi Air Force. It does not match his previous opposition during the Trump Administration or his previous skepticism of the Saudi government and their connections to international terrorism. Whose side will Congressman Lynch support this time, Saudi Arabia or Yemen?
