🌲🌳🍁🍂🏵🌱🌹🌸🌺🌻🌼🌵🍀☘️🌿🌾🌳 Welcome to Episode TWENTY ONE of Gathering nature. In an ever-changing and often chaotic world, turning to nature offers a grounding sense of wisdom and balance. Foraging for wild foods and plant medicines reconnects us to the rhythms of the Earth — rhythms that have nourished and healed humans for thousands of years. Nature provides not only sustenance, but remedies that are time-tested, sustainable, and often far gentler on the body than synthetic alternatives. In this complex age of quick fixes and overprocessed solutions, seeking the guidance of a skilled herbalist helps us rediscover the knowledge and power of plants — knowledge rooted in tradition, care, and deep respect for the natural world. It reminds us that healing doesn’t always come from a bottle, but often from the soil beneath our feet and the green life growing all around us. 🌲🌳🍁🍂🏵🌱🌹🌸🌺🌻🌼🌵🍀☘️🌿🌾🌳🌲 This show features President of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists, Forager & Author Natasha Lloyd, Magical Teacher/Practitioner, Solution Focussed Hypnotherapist Jacqui Thackway & Transatlantic Herbalist, healer and photographer Layla Neal. 🌲🌳🍁🍂🏵🌱🌹🌸🌺🌻🌼🌵🍀☘️🌿🌾🌳🌲 This week features HOLLY (ilex aquifolium) Holly is one of our most familiar evergreen trees, its bright red berries and glossy leaves bringing colour and life into our gardens and homes in winter, particularly at Christmas (the berries and thorny leaves are said to symbolise Jesus's blood on the crown of thorns). Our wildlife enjoys Holly, too: the berries are an important food source for many birds like Redwings and Fieldfares; indeed, Mistle thrushes guard their own berry-laden bushes with such voracity that they'll chase off any potential thieves. Holly can be found in a variety of habitats, from remote woodland to urban gardens. 🌲🌳🍁🍂🏵🌱🌹🌸🌺🌻🌼🌵🍀☘️🌿🌾🌳🌲 You can also support Natasha Lloyd on her social media platforms instagram.com/gathering.nature/ FB @natasha.lloyd.94 https://x.com/gatheringnature/ https://gatheringnature.com Her book titled - Foraged Condiments is available at AMAZON - https://a.co/d/hh0r84l AEON BOOKS - https://health.aeonbooks.co.uk/produc...
