Compairing the 2 ton and a 1 ton Engine Hoist from a Local Bargain Store

A quick comparison between a 1 ton and 2 ton hoist. The main point of this video is to share some things that I have delt with when pulling engines over the years. It seems to never fail that the ram hits the front bumper on all trucks and suvs with the 1 ton. Also usually doesn't lift high enough to allow the engine pan to clear the core. Just a few things to think about when debating which hoist is best for you. All measurements are approx. and prob won't match what you come up with. Every brand hoist is different. Just take into consideration how the hoist is constructed and difference in lifting capabilities between different hoist. I find it easier to lift an engine out using the 2 ton but there are some scenarios where the 1 ton worked better. I feel like the 2 ton is more stout and lifts easier in most cases. The 2 ton also came with a handle to push or guide it around which the 1 ton doesn't have that feature.
