Mark is almost 10 years old and has a frontal lisp (distorts his "s" sound) and also frequently says "s" for "z." The speech language pathologist, commonly known as a speech therapist, helps Mark make initial strides to reduce his lisp. For approximately 3 sessions, Mark places his fingers around his mouth to help him become aware of his lisping. Mark internalizes this strategy and later no longer needs to place his fingers around his lips. When Mark terminates speech therapy, a follow-up video will demonstrate his progress. Please note that treatment varies for a lisp. What may work for Mark in this video, may not work for another individual with a lisp.
