With Black Doom finally vanquished, our heroes seem to have won, but unfortunately, the raw energy that Doom had absorbed still remained. Without a vessel to contain it, the energy begins to move and take form. As it escapes into the vacuum of space, the concentrated Nega-Hyper-Go-On energy takes the form of a seven-headed dragon! Only one thing can stop this beast now. Super Transformation! Luckily, our heroes just so happen to have all 7 chaos emeralds present. Sonic and Shadow assume their Super Forms, and Lightning and Prizima learn to transform as well, discovering that they are in fact controllers! This explains how they were able to use the power of the emeralds to obtain the Pure Color Form initially. At last the final battle begins! Imbued with upgrade forms and chaos abilities, our heroes throw everything they have at the dragon, but when they discover that the creature can regenerate, they realize that they are in for another uphill battle. Even with the power of the chaos emeralds, will it really be enough to stop pure negative energy? And what about Prizima? Why is it that she doesn’t seem to be fully present in the moment? Something still doesn’t add up… Of all of the new boss themes, I think this is the one that I’m the most proud of. We needed a good final boss phase 1 theme. I knew there could only be 3 ways to do this. The first was an orchestral rock version off the main theme, but we were already using that for the final 2 phases. The second possibility, was to mimic most 3d Sonic games and go with a minor-key, heavy orchestral theme, but I wanted to do something unique. This left only the third option, which was to mimic an anime introductory theme, that is to have a primarily rock heavy, minor-key theme, with undertones of orchestral influence. You’ll likely be able to hear that I took some influence from introduction themes for both Attack on Titan and the Fate Series. It took a while to balance everything and get this piece to where I wanted it to be, but after hearing the end result, I’m very satisfied with how it turned out. I hope you guys enjoy it too! I thought it sounded so much like an anime theme, that it should have it’s own unique title. For now, I think I’ll call it “Warriors of the Light”.
