Welcome to this playthrough of FNUGG, a Kontakt library designed to explore the evolving relationship between field recordings, granular synthesis textures, and binaural drones. Recorded over a year in Norway, FNUGG’s raw source material—capturing bowed metals, insects, rivers, colliding objects, and natural ambiances—forms the foundation for its dynamic soundscapes. Unlike traditional sample libraries, FNUGG focuses on sound as a temporal phenomenon, emphasizing duration over linear time. Through granular synthesis, these recordings are dissected into micro-grains and reassembled into morphing textures that resist fixed rhythms and predictable sequences. This creates a sonic environment where time is felt as a flowing, heterogeneous process rather than a measured constant. The patches demonstrate a strange range of sonic states—from subtle, fluttering micro-movements to dense, modular rhythmic collages—showcasing FNUGG’s capacity to make the relentless becoming-other of time audible. Binaural processing adds a spatial dimension that immerses the listener within evolving auditory fields, enhancing the perception of time as an embodied experience. This playthrough highlights FNUGG’s integration of experimental sound design and modular synthesis-inspired modulation, allowing real-time manipulation of texture and temporal flow. It is an ideal tool for composers and sound artists working in cinematic scoring, immersive installations, and avant-garde music, offering a platform to engage with sound as a mutable, living material. We hope this weird, massive and wonderful Kontkat library, FNUGG, will amplify your next gig, and inspire you to make interesting music. ● ● ● https://wrongtools.com ● ● ● Wrongtools is committed to crafting the highest quality sampler instruments.
