emerald Passenger Mode from CEM Systems, is a feature to extend door opening times at boarding and departure gates to assist with passenger control. Upon a valid card swipe a passenger mode option is selected and the back lit LCD display informs the operator exactly how long the door will be held open for by a countdown timer on screen. A second swipe can extend or cancel access. Additionally with the configurable passenger mode operators can modify the door open time directly at the door. Using a touch-screen wheel, time can be modified based on the amount of boarding or departing passengers. Configuring door times has historically been via the CEM AC2000 client software but now with emerald Passenger Mode this option is available at the door. A second swipe allows the operator to reduce or increase the door opening time as required.
