What does homesteading actually look like in the middle of Winter? Not the pretty Spring gardens or harvest baskets, but the muddy, cold, unglamorous side that nobody really shows. In this February day on the homestead, I’m tackling the real jobs.... cleaning out the chicken house, hauling manure down to the vegetable garden, and scrubbing icy water buckets with numb fingers. It’s wet, it’s messy, and everything takes twice as long… but this is the quiet, honest work that keeps a smallholding going. If you’re dreaming about farming, keeping chickens, or starting a homestead, this is a look at the everyday Winter chores that come with it too. Sometimes it’s less “cottagey” and more “mud up to your ankles”.....and that’s okay. Thanks for joining me for a very real February day in the life. If you would like to help me to continue to make my videos then I would be really grateful if you would "buy me a coffee" ☕👇 https://buymeacoffee.com/take30plants Chapters 00:00 February reality check 01:30 Cleaning out the chicken house 04:00 Moving manure to the veg beds 06:30 Scrubbing frozen water buckets 09:00 Winter reflections 13:30 Why it’s still worth it #homesteading #smallholding #winterhomestead #farmchores #keepingchickens #countrylife #dayinthelife #simpleliving #selfreliance #reallife
