An off-the-radar, lake in Rajasthan which looks like a heavenly water body, though infested partly by the crocodiles, Siliserh Lake has remained unharmed by the commercialisation activities undertaken by the humans. The lake is located 13 km from Alwar and covers an area of 7 km. In the year 1845, a certain king got this lake constructed for the purpose of supplying water to the homes in Alwar. The lake has a namesake palace standing next to it which was made at the behest of the king for his ladylove, possibly his wife Tourists generally visit the Neemrana Palace, the Sariska National Park and Jai Samand Lake before or after exploring the beautiful Siliserh Lake. The lake is about 30 to 40 minutes away from the city of Alwar. There is an entry fee of INR 100 to reach the lake site. Being a tourist place, there is a boating ride also available for the tourists. A typical six-seater motor boat ride can be bought at INR 800 which lasts for about 30 minutes.
