Our IVF (ICSI) Journey [Part 1]

WARNING: Use of needles and video of injecting. We both decided back in October 2021 that we wanted to look into starting a family and how we could go about that. George has a c5/c6 complete spinal cord injury and therefore many nerves in his body have been affected. One of those nerves is the one that makes George ejaculate. So everything else works down there and we have a normal great time in the bedroom but it is impossible for sperm to make an appearance which obviously prevents us from getting pregnant naturally. We went to Salisbury spinal unit in October 2021 (this is where George spent 10 months after his injury) to find out what our options were, this is where we began some tests and then were passed over to Salisbury fertility centre. After many tests and visits and a successful sperm retrieval surgery for George, Jessikah was finally able to start the hormone injections in January 2022. Jessikah decided to vlog her journey in order to help any other couple who may be starting theirs, or thinking about it or knows this will be the route they’ll need to take in the future. It was hard to find information about what to expect and see it first hand from someone going through it, so hopefully this open and honest video is helpful in some way. Everyone’s journey is completely different but this may give an idea of what to expect. This is my journey. 🤍G&J
