Basingstoke Canal - Farnborough to Ash ¦ Aldershot Wharf ¦ Ash Lock ¦ English Countryside

Out with Alan today, a local resident, we are exploring the Basingstoke Canal from Farnborough Airport heading easterly past Aldershot Wharf, Ash Lock and over the A331 Aqueduct to Ash. We spot the key features along the way as well as enjoy the local countryside and tranquillity of the towpath route. We plan to walk along the next section too so please check out that video as well in due course. I hope I have commented accurately about the areas around and points I reference in the video. Please accept my apology if it seems I have not included something important or not got a detail correct in some way. I have done my best – I’m not an expert! If you have any observations, please do comment in the space below. Please SUBSCRIBE to my channel and click the “LIKE” button too. Thanks for watching and, bye for now. I step out for fun and my own personal enjoyment. What I do is at my own risk. I do not suggest anyone does what I do, the way I do it, where I go or anything else in my videos. I’m always mindful of my own safety and doing what is right with respect to the environment and others on the hills. If you watch my videos, please enjoy them as they are and don’t necessarily assume they are examples of excellent practice. I’m learning along the way too. As always, every fell-walker goes out on their route taking on responsibility for their own safety and wellbeing, accessing areas that are open to the public or asking for permission as necessary. I totally support the #LeaveNoTrace campaign and encourage everyone to follow that too. So, if you venture out, please respect the environment, be considerate to others along the route, stay safe, wear, carry and use the clothes and equipment that you need for your trek, have ample food and drink for the duration of your trek, navigate carefully and keep within the limitations of your fitness and abilities. Let others know where you plan to go and when you will return. Stay Safe. Enjoy!
