In this episode we will take a look at Bacalar post-COVID19 and compare the reality of what the lagoon looks like now (mid July 2020) and our expectation of what the Lagoon SHOULD look like. Bacalar is a beautiful small town located on the cost of Quintana Roo, Mexico. The Bacalar Lagoon (Laguna de 7 colores) is known for its spectacular crystal blue water. Due to Hurricane Cristobal in early June, the water of the Lagoon has been ‘contaminated’ by the ocean water, resulting in the lakes raised water levels and its brown-green appearance. There’s no website but it’s easy to find them with the address mentioned above; the cost was $250 pesos per Kayak and was a double one ($12.5 USD) for one hour.
