Marshall Islands World Ocean Day 2012

On June 8th World Oceans Day people around the planet celebrate and honor the body of water which links us all, for what it provides humans and what it represents. In honour of this event, CMI Land Grant 4H Extension Agent John Zedkaia filmed and produced this video to promote the world ocean's day events in the Marshall Islands, as well as to provide awareness on the importance of reducing waste and protecting our ocean. Featured on the film are employees of the Majuro Atoll Waste Company, detailing their work and the importance of recycling, as well as Brother C's song "Lamoren Emol" or "My True Heritage." The underwater images were filmed by Craig Musburger of HD under H2O on location in Rongelap and Majuro in the Marshall Islands.
