Preparation: Gather the essential supplies, including liquid culture spores, nitrile gloves, rubbing alcohol, and Lysol. Create a sterile workspace by turning off fans and vents, and wear gloves to ensure cleanliness. Workspace Sterilization: Clear and sterilize your work table using a combination of rubbing alcohol and Lysol. Ensure every surface, including the air above, is thoroughly disinfected. Rice Bag Preparation: Submerge rice bags in rubbing alcohol to sterilize. Flatten the rice bag by breaking apart the rice brick, creating an empty space above the "Ready Rice" label. Strategically use micropore tape to cover holes for later inoculation. Inoculation Process: Flame sterilize the spore syringe needle. Insert the needle into the bag, injecting the desired amount of spores (approximately 0.6ml). Seal the injection hole with micropore tape. Fresh Air Exchange Holes: Cut two holes for fresh air exchange right under the preplaced tape to secure them. Ensure proper sealing to maintain a sterile environment. Monitoring and Growth: Place prepared bags in a dark room at a stable 78°F temperature. Expect fluffy white mold growth(Mycellium) within 5 to 20 days. Remember, any deviation from these steps might result in contamination or overhydration. Check for signs of contamination, such as blue or orange discoloration.
