Our little holiday in Marrakech and Essaouira. Please hit like and subscribe if you enjoyed. We stayed in RIAD LES NUITS DE MARRAKECH. Beautiful, relaxed, highly recommended. https://www.lesnuitsdemarrakech.com/en/ Our meanderings took us to: THE SOUKS - a wonderful labyrinth of markets, shops, cafes and spice stalls. We found everyone friendly and loved exploring. It’s a walking city! The Jemaa El Fnaa is the place to start. LE JARDIN SECRET - a gorgeous oasis recently refurbished with a fun trip up a little tower to see the medina from above. We loved it. https://www.lejardinsecretmarrakech.c... NOBU ROOFTOP - a shamelessly bling rooftop bar with pool in Hivernage. Lots of swanky cars parked up, but it was fun for a drink and sunset. https://www.nobuhotels.com/marrakech/ LE TOBSIL RESTAURANT - a romantic feast in a wonderful setting. Really loved it. Could barely walk after dinner - you could’ve rolled me back to the riad. https://www.facebook.com/share/18Noom... DAR BACHA - lovely museum and exhibition with famous cafe and coffee shop. The exhibition was relatively empty with everyone going for the cafe. We loved the building and art. It’s in a nice part of the medina, too, next to the royal palace. https://darbacha.com MADRASA BEN YOUSSEF - fascinating old school beautifully restored. Busy! Interesting to see the sleeping quarters. NOMAD - an Instagram favourite, light food and lovely view of the spice market. We booked well ahead and enjoyed it, particularly the ice cream. BADI PALACE - a palatial ruin, often running concerts and events, overlooked by stalks nests. We didn’t stay long because of the heat, but it was nice to see and in the Kasbah area which is a little quieter. KOSYBAR - understated and lowkey bar with rooftop, lovely service and relaxed location. We could have stayed longer! https://www.kosybar.com DAR YACOUT - a palatial restaurant, once the go to place, still lovely but expensive and not quite up with the times. Two consecutive days of palace feasting was too much for us! MARRAKECH INSIDERS - a three hour private tour on vintage bike and sidecar. Brilliant fun. Expensive but a unique insight into Marrakech. We saw a lot, from the Palmeraire to the northern edges of the medina. Lovely guide who felt like a good friend by the time we finished. https://marrakechinsiders.com/en_us/ LES BAINS DE MARRAKECH - hammam and massage in an extraordinary little spa that we loved. Expensive but not by European standards. A couples hammam is also hilarious. Exactly what we needed. DARDAR - vibing rooftop, lovely cocktails, decent bar food and incredible sunset. We loved it. https://www.rooftopdardar.com/en LES JARDINS MAJORELLES - first in at 8am and well worth it. A magical garden although apparently seething later in the day. JARJEER DONKEY SANCTUARY - a charity rescuing donkeys. We went out of our way by about an hour (it’s on the edge of the Agafay desert) to visit privately. https://www.jarjeer.org In Essaouira we stayed at Chems Bleu Riad. Friendly, lovely sea views, entry within the alleys of the medina. https://www.chemsbleu.com/riad-hotel-... There was a heavy sea mist for much of our stay which gave the town an eerie vibe. The medina is lovely for a day exploring. The beach is fab, the fresh fish barbecued at the harbour worthwhile. CHEVAL ESSAOUIRA - disastrously organised horse-riding, which we were happy to finish early. It was unsafe, unfriendly, an hour late to start and really the worst horse-riding experience we’ve ever had. SALUT MAROC - rooftop overlooking the sea, live music, nice cocktails, great fun. TARIS - not particularly friendly or relaxed but good views. BAR ‘UNKNOWN BUT CHEAP’ - a locals bar which was very casual and basic, but also very friendly. The name is how it appears on Google Maps! Happy to be corrected. LE TABLE BY MADADA - best food of the holiday. Fine dining in a beautiful location. Romantic and recommended. https://madada.com PALAZZO DESDEMONA - lovely rooftop bar. We could’ve stayed longer and lounged for a bit, but our plane home beckoned.
