Here's my (admittedly late) input to the conversation about both situations and why only one of them counts as domestic terrorism. Despite the moral dilemmas it presents, some level of violence and property damage is a natural side effect when panic spreads within a group. It is an act of violence in and of itself for a heavily armed group to seize an area with neither the proper training nor the legal grounds to do so, and becomes an act of terrorism if their target is significant to a large number of people. NOTES: As on all of my videos, comments are auto-filtered, so not all of them will appear right away. I consider myself to be an "educated layperson" in areas like sociology, political science, and psychology, all of which come up here in some way or another.
