Yesterday at the eThekwini Regional Office, former uMkhonto weSizwe combatants gathered for a powerful meeting aimed at rebuilding unity among ex-soldiers across KwaZulu-Natal. The session addressed the daily struggles veterans face — socially, economically, and within the broader liberation movement. An interim provincial structure was elected, with regional structures to follow, marking a renewed commitment to reorganising and strengthening the ex-combatant formations. The gathering brought together National Security Soldiers, Do or Die, Flag Bearers, and veterans who had remained within the ANC but have now returned to the uMkhonto weSizwe Military Ex-Combatants. Key leaders delivered strong messages: Comrade Sizwe Zungu reminded members of the unfinished mission to liberate the Black person. Comrade Lwazi Mzobe confirmed that internal divisions have been resolved and soldiers are ready to return to the ground. Comrade Zibuse Rogers Cele insisted that although MK won last year’s elections, the people were robbed, and the movement must reclaim KwaZulu-Natal. National Deputy Chair Mokotjo Sebiloane emphasized that we remain in a liberation struggle, and warned that soldiers cannot stay silent if the will of the people is undermined again. The meeting closed with a united call for dignity, proper housing, and jobs for all ex-combatants — marking a new chapter in the fight for justice and economic restoration. #mkparty #jacobzuma #gwazamkhontogwaza #umkhontowesizwe #leadership #byelections2025
