We also want to thank The Palm Collective and House Party Presents for their inspiring work and activism for the Washington, DC community. We thought it would be appropriate to share their message with you all. The Palm Collective: The Palm Collective (TPC) is a Black & Queer-led organization connecting individuals, networks, and grassroots organizations to end systemic racism in DC and beyond while creating powerful communities through Collective Action. They work across movement spaces to amplify, support, educate and engage on our collective fights against intersectional injustices. Raising awareness and funds to directly help the homeless community via really good, live music- benefit shows essentially. For every dollar raised, 60% goes to established, IMPACTFUL homeless assistance organizations. 25% goes towards independent outreach supplies, nutritious food, toiletries, weather protection, heart warming efforts)and 15% goes back into HP to sustain and slowly grow. This organization is currently based out of Washington D.C. and Denver, Colorado with a day one vision of being travel based. Bands tour and homelessness is everywhere. Currently this is just a one person operation pending IRS tax exemption status. The grassroots, organic support earned every step of the way means the world. Houseparty Presents is know for an eclectic music palate. Bluegrass, punk rock, electronic dance music and just about everything in between - just no cover bands.
