On January 8, 2024 , an Oak Lawn Police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for having no rear registration plate and illegal "limo tints" on all windows. The driver, immediately became "angry and began screaming" at the officer. The driver repeatedly ignored the officer's requests for his driver's license, instead yelling and talking on his cellphone. After being instructed to turn off the vehicle and remain inside, The driver continued to be belligerent. He then defied a lawful order by exiting his vehicle. Despite being warned he would be arrested for obstruction if he did it again , The driver proceeded to move his car and exit it a second time while the officer was writing citations. He was then arrested for Obstructing a Peace Officer. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers made a shocking discovery: a homemade electrical switch made from a 2x4 and a screw, with "semi exposed wires" running next to a child's car seat.
