Three eggs were chosen as the subject because they are easy to paint but require a high degree of accuracy when applying the light/shadow gradients. First, the image is created as a monochrome grisaille and then glazed in two passes. White paint is worked into the wet, colored glazes to easily create a sfumato effect.
