The allied no-fly zone has helped to protect this area from Baghdad's forces. But the Kurds fear any new conflict may lead to the Iraqi army attacking them once again, as it has in the past. STORYLINE 0002 Sharya village in Northern Iraq, lies near the border with the area of Iraq still under the control of Baghdad. 0009 It has been attacked by Saddam Hussein's forces in the past. 0014 Its people are Yazidi, a religious sect which incorporates elements of Judaism, christianity and Islam as well as other ancient religions. 0022 They're now preparing themselves for the worst. 0025 Lacking protective equipment and fearing chemical attack from the Iraqi army, they're hoping a mixture of crushed charcoal and salt will filter the poisons from the air. 0034 UPSOUND: (Kurdish) Sa'adi: 0037 "We do not have any proper protection against chemical weapons says this man.
