While not as well known as Cathedral Brook or the Dreamcatcher Glades, this “glade” still represents an important piece of Belleayre history. Long story short, this "glade" utilizes the former #8 "Big" T-Bar liftline (hence the name "Big T Glade"). Predating the Tomahawk Quad and Gondola, the Roebling-built Big T-Bar was the original west side lift at Belleayre (dating back to the early 1950's and removed in 1999), going a little over halfway up to roughly where the trails transition from black to blue. What we now think of as the upper (black) portions of these trails as well as Deer Run (whose former upper section is now blocked off) were accessed by a still-extant traverse off Lift 7 (the triple) or it's predecessor (the Tomahawk extended this further up still). Across from the glade “entrance" exist several footers that once supported the lift's top terminal. While the glade itself ends at 3:27, the liftline continues down a little further. I ended up taking the former downhill extension of Esopus to get to the former bottom terminal building, which still says "Big T-Bar". Let me know in the comments if you got a chance to ride the T-Bar when it still existed or if you have been down this yourself. Enjoy! Filmed on 9 March 2019
