Valkyrae took to her YouTube stream to try and explain her involvement in the RFLCT controversy and defend her skin care line. Valkyrae started off by claiming that RFLCT had more “research” that they weren’t allowed to make public to back up their claims, but they couldn’t show it because companies would steal the research. Viewers immediately called her out on it, asking how proving blue light was damaging could somehow be “stolen”, and just mocking the entire angle of their being secret research that we can’t show you, but trust us it exists. Valkyrae also revealed that she wished she was no longer a part of RFLCT, saying originally she hadn’t even been a co-founder, just a creative collaborator, but they had changed her title, and that she had taken 100 Thieves out of her twitter bio because the backlash to RFLCT was so bad she didn’t want it to effect the org. When Valkyrae kept backing up RFLCT’s unproven claims, Mizkif actually called the streamer to get her to stop her stream.
