My 12 year old self, who watched the 2001 original anime, always associated this song with Kyo. But I never ended up doing it, since I hadn’t read the manga and was too busy editing with other things. So when the reboot happened, imagine my joy at finally realizing that I could do this. I know what this song is about, in case anyone comes for me, lol. I know that it’s about an abused boy who later kidnaps/rapes a girl and I am NOT trying to portray Kyo in that kind of negative light at all. He’s my favorite character, and Kyoru is my favorite ship. But I wanted to show this song as though it were in Kyo’s mindset. He feels so much self-hatred, so undeserving of love, that he might feel like he is ‘stealing’ Tohru’s love. I also debated whether I should wait to complete this until next week, because OH BOY at what’s coming up, but I decided I didn’t really need the content. The nightmare sequence was all that I was waiting for. This honestly is not as chaotically edited as I would’ve liked, mainly because effects/transitions aren’t my thing anymore, and I wanted to finish it before Monday’s ep. So…. sorry, lol.
