As each nerve-wracking quarter of the game unfolds, arguments, fights, and bitter realizations arise within the family, driving wedges and rivalries between child and parent, husband and wife, grandparents and siblings. WHO WILL WIN? https://www.gofundme.com/GameDayMovie Philadelphia Native Returns Home From Hollywood To Star In A Film He Wrote GAME DAY – A Timely Story About Family Rivalries Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – July 13th, 2021 Dean Simone, a 4th generation, Italian-American, Philadelphian and Eagles fan returns to the City of Brotherly Love after a successful, multi-decade Hollywood career, with his own hometown-inspired story in GAME DAY, a new movie out this Fall about a Philadelphia family of “underdogs” who fight passionately among themselves but never give up on each other. Co-written by Simone and co-produced by Philadelphia producers in partnership with a Los Angeles-based production company, GAME DAY is a raw, humorous, and powerful drama about an Italian-American family from Philadelphia, the Forte’s, who gather annually to cheer on their beloved Eagles against their hated rival - the Cowboys. As each nerve-wracking quarter of the game unfolds, arguments, fights, and bitter realizations arise within the family, driving wedges and rivalries between child and parent, husband and wife, grandparents and siblings. Who will win? A South Philly/South Jersey native, Dean based the film’s story and characters on his actual family, incorporating their real-life experiences into the script. Simone saw how the volatility, passion and struggle of making a life to pursue your dreams while maintaining one’s family is a fight that can spill over into familial relationships. Dean noticed tensions coming to a head during these Sunday football get-togethers’, a high voltage arena, ripe for an explosive result. Simone says, “Being a Birds fan is not just being a part of some casual football enthusiast sub-base. It’s a damn culture. My grandfather played for the Frankford Yellow Jackets, a team that became in large-part the Philadelphia Eagles. I remember being a toddler and my dad and Grandfather bundling me up and taking me to Franklin Field to watch those Eagle games. We’re talking pre-Veterans Stadium, or going to Princeton to watch the last pre-season game against the Giants. There was blood in the seats with more fights between the Philly and Giant fans than on the field. On the way to the games or just watching them at home together, there were discussions about politics, family dynamics, philosophy, religion, food and more than anything else about the Eagles. How to fix them, fight for them and follow them like a true fan while bleeding Kelly Green all the way. Our commitment is not for the faint of heart”. Returning home to film, promote and release Game Day this fall brings Dean back to his roots, “Hearing my native accent, which nobody outside of the area gets right, walking into a WaWa, getting a real hoagie, cheese steak, soft pretzel or water ice… it’s not surreal, it recharges my soul and invigorates my mind.” Edgar Bravo, the co-writer and director says the film’s message is: “to thy own self be true and then peace can begin to unfold. Everyone in this story is fighting for their lives and has something to win or lose”. Bravo continues, “All of us come from different family backgrounds. Some have close families, others broken. Some have mended, others not. The Forte’s family glue is coming undone with absolute brutality and yet there is an underlying care, love and truth that moves each family member to finally be what they have always wanted be - true to themselves – but no longer at the expense of others.” The filmmakers are working to premiere and release the film in Tri-State area theaters this fall with digital and streaming platforms to follow. John Paul Rice, the film’s producer says, “Game Day is like the Rocky of this time. It’s not about the sport or the opponent. It’s about fighting for what you love, letting go of what you can’t control and ultimately finding yourself, even in defeat. Win or lose you have to pick up and keep playing.” Great rivalries last forever. Great families who learn to love, survive and live to play another day. #Philly #Philadelphia #Dallas #Football #Family #Film #Movie #Drama #Eagles #Cowboys #Sports #Filmmaker #GoFundMe #Cinema #Fall #Season #JohnPaulRice #NoRestrictions #ComingSoon #ComingAttractions #Trailer #Preview #IndieFilm #Acting #Performances #Entertainment
