Heading to the Goyt Valley in the Peak District and what a beautiful drive but not the roads!!

What a shock to see the Lamaload Reservoir so low of water, 2025 was a year to remember due to lack of rain and many reservoirs suffered but as we are now in 2026 after a very wet winter I would imagine most will have refilled to their normal level. Our trip takes us through the Cheshire area of the Peak District National Park as we hard towards the Goyt Valley, a very popular area for walkers and those that like to drive through the gorgeous countryside, although you do have to dodge the potholes that seem to have grown since our last visit through the area. Typical for us we come across sheep that have got out of the fields, careful driving is always needed as you never know which way they are going to go.
